Is Sony Playing a Dangerous Game with PS3 Customers?
The recent outage that crippled PlayStation 3 consoles for millions of gamers didn’t seem to faze Sony management very much. While frustrated players tried to figure out why their systems wouldn’t work — losing time, trophies and tempers — Sony’s response was lackadaisical. Sony: Repaired PS3 Software Glitch Preventing Users from Network Access
Sony Corp. said Tuesday it has repaired a software glitch with its PlayStation 3 that had prevented some users from accessing its PlayStation Network for more than 24 hours.

2K Games Opens Secret Armory of General Knoxx
2K Games announced that The Secret Armory of General Knoxx, the third explosive piece of downloadable game add-on content for Borderlands, is now available for detonation starting today via the Xbox LIVE Marketplace for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft for 800 Microsoft Points. The add-on content will also be available on February 25 from the PlayStation Network and from store.gearboxsoftware.com, Steam and Direct2Drive for Windows PC for $9.99.

In what is unusual in the modern world of PC and console gaming co-existence, the sequel to a best-selling console game is headed to the PC.
Announced at Microsoft’s X10 event is that Dead Rising 2 will be shipping for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Windows PC platforms on August 31.

Sony Still Losing Money on PS3 Console
Japanese mega-corp Sony revealed their earnings recently, and the Wall Street Journal picked up on a very small, but notable point – Sony loses .06 for every $1.00 of PS3 sales sold, so basically, they take a $18 hit on every unit sold. However, they’re looking to make that back soon, and sales of the PS3 and its games were very well for the year 2009.

Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Goes Episodic This Summer
Sega has taken the wraps off Project Needlemouse, and the publisher is positioning the game as a proper sequel to the series’ Genesis genesis and Sonic the Hedgehog 3, specifically. The publisher has released a new trailer for the game, revealing its official title: Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1.
