Pink Ouija Board Riles Some Christians

The children’s sleepover staple — sold by Hasbro since 1967 — now comes in hot pink, an edition released two years ago that gets tweens to call on “spirits” to spell out answers to life’s pressing questions.

Dragon Age: Origins allows players to develop combat and magic skills, interact with other characters and have romantic encounters. If you play as a male character, it is even possible to have a liaison with a male elf named Zevran.

This last detail has gotten the game (which is rated M for Mature, meaning that it is intended for players 17 and older) noticed by the news media, and has prompted a range of responses about the depiction of gay sex in mass entertainment.

But unlike many of those critics, I’m actually going to level with you and admit this up front, rather than react to said clip, or to what a tabloid newspaper tells me to think about it, or what some rentaquote MP has to say.

So then. Isn’t it about time some people got a grip?
